“You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day, unless you’re too busy, then you should sit for an hour” Old Zen saying

Think meditation is just for spiritual people and celebrities who have too much time on their hands? Think again. Mediation is an untapped wellness resource that can afford us with an array of mind, body and health benefits. Those who lead particularly stressful and busy lifestyles can benefit enormously from meditation. Just 5 to 10 minutes a few times a week can make all the difference in achieving a more peaceful and content existence. Admittedly I don’t meditate as often as I perhaps should, however, it is something I am going to try and make more of a conscious effort to do!

But, I hear you, how can you justify yet another activity to cram in to your already hectic schedule? Well let me point out just a…

I got a face lift!

Oh, wait. Did I say I got a face lift.. I meant my website.

No, I didn’t undergo plastic surgery… but my website did under-go some major construction this week! You may look at this site and think “I don’t really see what’s so different”, but let me tell you.. A LOT of stuff is different.

1) I changed the site theme

2) I added several (A LOT) of widgets

3) I changed servers (which takes a lot of patience, following instructions, and googling words that I didn’t know)

4) I transferred my we site from one server to another

5) And a gazillion other things… Craziness.

Let me remind you that I’m technologically challenged and stuff like this is definitely not second nature to me. I’ve spent hours and hours trying to figure out how to change even the smallest details.  I’ve sent so many emails to the Bluehost support team that I’m afraid they’re going to black-ball me soon. I was on the phone with one representative for so long that I think we may have become friends. He helped me through a crisis.. I gave him relationship advice.. We went through a lot together. I’m not even kidding you guys. HAHA Even though updating my website is challenging me, it has also been a lot of fun! Strangely, I’m loving learning how to do web work. Hopefully in a few years I’ll be a master! Unlikely, but a girl can dream. I plan to continue to change and improve my website over the next few months, but for now I’ve mostly only completed cosmetic work.

Please let me know how you like the new layout. Like I said, mostly cosmetic at this point but I hope soon I can start to create some really cool stuff here.

The things I do when I want to work the least.. Procrastination.

I’m going to be 100% honest, sometimes I just don’t want to work. When I say work, I’m referring to reading articles, doing statistics, and working on projects at school. My other jobs are fun! I get to train people, help people change their lives, and improve their health.. it’s a blast! School… not so much.

Most of the time I try to get all my stuff done so I can relax. But on those days when I don’t feel as motivated to face my daily challenges head on; I procrastinate. I am not kidding! I will do anything to avoid the ONE thing that I should be doing. Please tell me I’m not alone here. I’ll cook, clean, write a letter, wash my car, I’ll do ANYTHING to avoid working.  It’s a real problem.

So, I thought I would prepare you a list of my favorite things to do when I want to work the least:

1) Nap

Napping is the BEST way to avoid work. In my opinion, naps are necessary. Seriously, if you get the chance to nap, you should. You won’t even regret it.

2) Run

Running helps me clear my head and dissipate some of my energy. It dissipates just enough so that I’m actually able to focus on work afterward. It’s sort of a “win, win”. I get to stay in shape and I get to focus better at my desk afterward.. plus I’m able to avoid working for about an hour!

3) Write up a few class workouts or personal training workouts

I always like to have a few extra workouts on hand throughout the week. Many times when I’m waiting for something or I’m bored I write workouts. Other times, I have plenty to do, but I still write workouts. haha I figure, if I’m going to procrastinate at school, I might as well get something done that’s useful!

4) Blog

I love blogging, but I don’t usually have time everyday to sit down and do it. The precious moments that I’m able to sneak away and write on the website are precious moments that I truly enjoy!

5) Clean every surface in my house or office

When worst comes to worst and I’ve already gone through every other form of procrastination, I result to cleaning. Luckily, cleaning is #5 on the list so I’m rarely desperate enough to sink that low. haha

Please tell me I’m not the only one! haha

Thanks for stopping by,
